Is a Swiss surgeon specialized in heart surgery for children.
He studied medicine at the University of Geneva, practiced in New York, England, Germany and France before returning to Switzerland to work in the Children’s Hospital Zurich specializing in pediatric heart surgery, transplant, heart defect and in reconstruction of some cardiac valves.
On January 9, 2010, he is crowned «Swiss Person of the Year 2009 ».
Since August 2012, he has been a Professor at the University of Lausanne and Chief of the Cardiovascular Surgery Division of the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV).
